Caledonian Railway 13 inch dial Oak cased fusee drop dial clock ex Forres.

13 inch Oak cased iron dial railway clock with a spun brass bezel supplied to the Caledonian Railway around 1880 – 1890. The quality English type fusee movement in fully overhauled condition has rectangular plates and are stamped W&H Sch which are the markings for Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwaerzenbach Germany who were one of the main suppliers to the Caledonian Railway. A light Oak case with an ornate ogee surround and a drop to the box with a lenticle window,the back box has one side access door and a bottom door secured by a brass turn. Scratched into the back of the box is Fores Traffic indicating that the clock moved from the Caly in LMS days.The original enamel painted dial bears the writing Caledonian Railway Co. A rare survivor that has escaped any dial re writes.
